SPOT for Kids was established in 1999 and provides community-based Speech Pathology, Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy services for children and adolescents throughout the metropolitan area, the Mornington Peninsula and South Gippsland. Our specialist area is paediatric neurological rehabilitation working primarily with children and adolescents with acquired brain injury. We are able to arrange for these services in the child’s own environment, such as their home, preschool, childcare centre or school or at our practice.
Our Philosophy
SPOT for Kids philosophy is to provide functional, meaningful therapy tasks in order to maximize our clients’ safety, independence and opportunities in accessing their community and developmentally appropriate activities, and assisting families in developing realistic options.
We believe that the client, their family and therapists should be involved in collaborative decision-making, and that goals should be realistic, objective and measurable.
We believe that close liaison with schools, kindergartens, child care services and other relevant agencies is essential in establishing consistent goals and approaches.
We believe strongly in using the child’s own environment and community to support the therapy process.
